Privacy Policy
The short version: Backpass does not collect, store or share any personal information. There is no account, no tracking and no advertising.
Who we are
Backpass is a puzzle game for iPhone made by Neil Camm, Declan Camm, and Lincoln Camm ("we"). This policy covers the Backpass app and this website.
What the app stores
To remember your progress, Backpass saves a small file on your device containing:
- which levels you have completed, and your best number of handoffs on each
- how many times you have attempted each level
- your settings, such as sound, haptics and coach hints
This data never leaves your device except as described in the next section, and we cannot see it.
iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud, Backpass keeps a copy of the same progress in your own iCloud account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage, so a new phone or a reinstall picks up where you left off. That copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account and is covered by Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to it.
What we don't do
- We don't ask for your name, email address, or any other personal information.
- We don't use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and we don't use third-party SDKs that do.
- We don't use your device's advertising identifier and never show an App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- We don't sell or share data, because we don't have any.
Beta testing
If you test Backpass through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may share crash reports, basic device information and any feedback you choose to send with us, under Apple's TestFlight terms. We use it only to fix problems with the game.
Children
Backpass is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children under 13.
This website
This site is a set of static pages on our own server. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or tracking. Like most web servers, ours may keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time), which we use only to keep the site running and secure. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts; see Google Fonts' privacy FAQ.
Changes
If a future version of Backpass adds features that handle data, such as Game Center leaderboards, in-app purchases, advertising or analytics, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top of this page.
